MDMA Therapy

mdma

MDMA therapy will be available as soon as it is legal to prescribe MDMA as medicine for mental health.

“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds.”  Gabor Mate MD

Perhaps you have tried all the usual therapies and you are still suffering symptoms of your post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Sometimes psychotherapy alone is just not enough. Sometimes even trying other modalities such as anxiolytic medications, yoga, neurofeedback, breathing exercises, soundwaves, self-help books, and less conventional modalities might still be lacking in providing definitive relief.

PTSD is often the fuel for addictions, relationship problems, work problems, and difficulty enjoying the small things in life.

Finally, relief is on the horizon.

The recreational drug known as Ecstacy or Molly, has been extensively researched to be effective at treating PTSD.  The medication is called MDMA and when used in the proper dose, in a therapeutic setting, and monitored for safety, has a remarkable 80% efficacy rate after three treatments.

Protocol

The client is medically screened by our medical doctor, Julia Bramwell MD.  She will prescribe the MDMA medication, if indicated.

Between one to three doses of MDMA will be scheduled one month or more, apart. The MDMA clinical experience will take place in the office of an MDMA psychotherapist. Each session is approximately 8 hours long.

Cost

The cost of the medical consultation with Dr. Bramwell is $250. The cost of each MDMA assisted psychotherapy session is paid directly to the psychotherapist performing the supervision and is estimated to be $1000 per session. There is an additional cost for the MDMA medication capsule which is unknown at this time.

Safety

MDMA is considered a safe medication when used in the appropriate dose and in the controlled setting of a psychotherapist. Possible side effects include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Increase in heart rate and blood pressure
  • Agitation
  • Increase in body temperature
  • Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort
